I continue to experiment with Refik Anadol’s Living Painting idea. I wrote about my first attempts in an earlier post. For my new experiment, I’m using the same technique to create an abstract living painting.

The input data for this visual is again a holiday picture. I went for a picture of a view during a hike in Lofoten.

This time, I ordered the pixels in a random order, while still sourcing the colours from the picture. This yields an interesting, fabric-like, end result:

And just as list time, I generated a video of the progress, yoyo-ing from start to end and back to the start. It lasts 8 minutes and I think it is quite intriguing.

(Best experience on a large portrait monitor.)

Alright. That’s it for now.

Thank you for watching.
